Tips
ISO
Auto ISO is highly configurable: set max ISO (e.g. 12800) and minimum shutter speed under ISO AUTO Min. SS. Dual base ISO — the second base is at ISO 3200, so don't be afraid to go higher.
Aperture
In A mode the camera adjusts shutter speed automatically. In M mode, front dial = aperture, rear dial = shutter speed (configurable). The aperture preview is live in the EVF.
The Sony a7 IV features in-body image stabilization (IBIS), which helps you shoot sharp images handheld in low-light conditions by reducing camera shake.
Use the Picture Profiles on the Sony a7 IV to achieve different moods in your photos. For example, try PP8 for a cinematic look with deeper shadows.
The a7 IV's electronic viewfinder (EVF) allows you to use focus peaking to highlight the in-focus areas in your frame, making it easier to achieve precise focus with manual lenses.
Customize the C1 to C4 buttons on the Sony a7 IV to quickly access your most-used settings without diving into menus, enhancing your shooting efficiency.
The a7 IV is weather-sealed, making it suitable for shooting in challenging outdoor conditions. Don't hesitate to take it out in light rain or dusty environments.
