Tips

ISO

The a7R IVA allows Auto ISO with a minimum shutter speed setting, which helps prevent motion blur.

Aperture

You can set the aperture directly on the lens if you're using a compatible Sony lens.

Use the Sony a7R IVA's Pixel Shift Multi Shooting mode (Menu → Camera Settings → Pixel Shift Multi Shooting) to create ultra-high-resolution images by combining multiple shots. This is perfect for capturing detailed landscapes or still life.

The a7R IVA has a dedicated Exposure Compensation Dial on the top right, allowing you to quickly adjust exposure without diving into menus. This is handy for making fast adjustments when lighting conditions change.

Activate Focus Peaking (Menu → AF/MF → Peaking Setting) to highlight the edges of your subject in color when manually focusing. This feature is especially useful for achieving precise focus in portraits or when shooting with a shallow depth of field.

The Sony a7R IVA's in-body image stabilization (IBIS) allows you to shoot handheld in low-light conditions without blur. This is a great advantage for night or indoor photography where using a tripod is not feasible.

Customize the C1 and C2 buttons on the top of the a7R IVA to quickly access your most-used settings. This customization can streamline your shooting process by reducing time spent navigating menus.

The a7R IVA's electronic viewfinder (EVF) offers a live histogram overlay, which helps you ensure your exposure is balanced before you take the shot. This feature is invaluable for achieving the perfect exposure in any lighting condition.
